Tarik brings five years of business relationship and two years of community sport experience to Sports Without Borders.
On 29 July 2013Sports Without Borders announced that Tarik Bayrakli has been named its General Manager. Chairperson James Demetriou was pleased with the appointment, “Sports Without Borders will benefit from Tarik’s enthusiasm, knowledge of multicultural sport and passion for helping others.”
Tarik Bayrakli has five years of relationship management experience with Macquarie Bank and Bendigo & Adelaide Bank. He recently completed a Master of Business (Sport Management) at Deakin University and for two years coordinated community sport programs with Soccer Time Kids. He encourages diverse migrant groups, including refugees, to use sport as a way of connecting with their communities, building confidence and making friends.
“I’m thrilled with the opportunity to assist young people from migrant backgrounds to link with sporting clubs and make positive contributions to their communities. I’m looking forward to continuing my involvement in community sport and engaging with organisations interested in social inclusiveness through sport.”
Tarik Bayrakli is replacing Athalia Zwartz who recently moved on from Sports Without Borders to pursue her ambitions abroad. Athalia Zwartz made a great contribution to Sports Without Borders, she will be missed and Sports Without Borders wishes her every success in future endeavours.
