Sports Without Borders is a not for profit organisation which is

dedicated to providing support for young people from newly arrived

migrant and refugee backgrounds who are involved or want to get

involved in sport.

The first funding round for the year has ended and in celebration of

the achievement of young people participating in sport in southern

and eastern suburbs, SWB will be giving out cheques in a gift giving

ceremony devoted to social inclusion. In this round Sports Without

Borders will be granting over $16,000 to over 150 newly arrived and

refugee youth from Melbourne metro area.

Grantees from CALD communities, local government councillors and

council officers, local organisations, representatives of the Victorian

Multicultural Commission and Sports Without Borders Chairman

James Demetriou will be attending.

The cheque giveaway promises to be an exciting event for a great

cause. With great stories of disadvantaged youth taking the first step

to social inclusion in their area SWB is proud to be associated with the

area of southern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne and their

respective councils. Our special thanks to Springvale Neighbourhood

House, Springvale.
