If you’re a budding coach or official and live in Victoria here’s your chance to sign up for a chance to get some free accreditation and help out your local club.
Sport and Recreation Victoria is running a new campaign Target 1000 which aims to recruit 1000 coaches and officials into grassroots sport.
In partnership with state sporting associations, ‘Target 1000’ will provide funding to cover the accreditation cost for each coach or official, which currently ranges from $100-$200.
It will also deliver more than 60,000 hours of free coaching and officiating this year through sporting clubs across Victoria
Candidates for the program must be committed to a minimum of 60 hours coaching or officiating to be eligible under ‘Target 1000’ and will be subsidised to do their course under the $60,000 program.
‘Target 1000’ will use the Australian Sports Commission online learning portal which offers participants the chance to complete 50 per cent of their training in their own time.
Further details of participating sports will be available from 26 February, watch this space.
