Dear Sports Without Borders Friends and Supporters
In extending my very best wishes for the Festive Season, I would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your support during 2010.
2010 was an amazing and exciting year for SWB, made possible by the goodwill and support of friends such as yourself.
SWB assisted over 3,000 children in 2010 in participating in sport. We did this in simple ways such as paying registration fees, supplying kit and equipment, encouraging them to try new sports and by holding community sporting events. In this we were ably supported by local sporting Clubs proactively reaching out to welcome our new communities.
Our programs and grants extended across multiple local government areas, into metro and regional areas and across State borders.
The generosity and support of the Department of Planning and Community, Australian Multicultural Commission, Victorian Multicultural Foundation, the Scanlon Foundation, federal and state Members of Parliament, Bendigo Bank, Westpac, Our Community and the Cities of Hume, Moonee Valley, Monash, Hobsons Bay, Dandenong, Latrobe, ProjectProject and Trojan Printing has been invaluable. SWB owes much local clubs and community networks and those wonderful people who encourage and interact with our newly arrived Australian citizens. A number of Australia’s leading national and state sporting organisations also willingly assisted us in reaching many young people. I would like to especially acknowledge and thank the Australian Multicultural Fund and its team, in particular Dr Hass Dellal, for all the support and wise counsel and guidance they gave us in 2010.
I look forward to working with you in 2011 and would like to leave you with some images of our SWB stars and our special moments in 2010.
With best wishes to you and your families for the holiday season and 2011!
